ACTIVITIES
Biking to and from beaches, wharf and trails is a much-enjoyed pastime with little or relatively slow traffic on major roads. The main road is graveled and secondary roads are sandy, with the odd bit of gravel. There is usually some island activity happening. Fire Hall frolics, the Triathlon in July, Sports day in August, dances, and sandcastle contests – these events are usually well posted on island.
I have provided four adult 'island' bikes as well as a kids 'chariot' for two or bring your own bikes and kayaks to explore on and around the island. I have a mooring buoy located near the wharf if you plan on bringing your own boat and tender.
AMENITIES
Although there is a store on the island, we suggest you bring with you an ample supply of your favorite foods and beverages. The Lund store also sells most items if you haven’t purchased these prior to arriving in Lund. A reminder that Fishing Licenses are needed for the possession of shellfish.
In case of emergency, call 911. We have an excellent First Responder team. Our Volunteer Fire Department is also reached by calling 911 and we ask that extreme caution be used in lighting fires, using matches, candles and smoking cigarettes. In extreme heat conditions there is a total fire ban on island. Signs will be posted if this is the case.
